'07 B7 v. 09 750i

The lease on my '08 550i is up in 3 months, so I've been considering what my next car will be (or if I should just buy the 550 off lease). A local dealer had an '07 Alpina B7 on the lot so I went to take a look at it. Drove the car - quite the performer compared to the '07 750, but then I drove a new '09 750i. I'm in love. While I know that the Alpina will outperform the '09 750, it just didn't seem that way. The 09 seemed to have a bit more low-end torque and just seemed to handle better.

I think I now know what I'm going to go for when my lease is up...

Yes, the torque on the 09 is pretty remarkable. 450 lb ft, and available from 1800 - 4500 RPM.

Id have to go with the 09' 750. The Tech in the 09 is infinitely better. The new iDrive is amazing. The renderings on the maps are the best in any car to date.

Add to that the heads-up display and Stop & Go cruise control.

Yeah, it'd be no contest for me, either. I've driven a B7 and while the engine is indeed amazing, I would still pick a Sport Packaged F01 every time.

Ah, B7, what a dream. What was the odometer at and the price of the thing? Any pics? That thing must have been a beauty.

However the new Individual Package on the F01 looks insane! Piano black trim? white leather and those sick paint jobs? F01 is amazing no doubt.
