E39 (1997 - 2003)

P1140 and P0505

hi guys i have thos codes tha P0505 (Idle Control System Malfunction) and P1440 (Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Range/Performance Problem) but tha car feel nice, if one of you have any experience or comments about those codes pleas help me!!! i dont know wath parts i need to chande or clean o check, thanks

Clear the codes and see if they come back after a couple of weeks.

You can clear the codes by disconnecting your battery, if you don't have access to a tool to erase them.

MAF/IAT going or gone - easy fix
i saw the first code once... when i had to replace my failed oil separator valve...

check your ICV as well..

does anyone know the location of the MAF and the idle control valve. im trying to clean both to correct the idle problem and solve the p1140 error code... thanks for the help???

Maf location found easily..

Does anyone know if cleaning it with a cleaner is worth while??
And would alchohol work to clean it?? Or do you know of a cleaner product name??
