iPod Touch with Bluetooth w/BMW module

Anyways guys I have had my 745 for about 2months now and I just found out a few days ago what this things was (link below). Thanks to one of you guys here on forum.

http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/pr...rade-7-series/

I knew it has something to do with the phone but didnt know for sure what it was. I still dont know how that things works but Im sure some of you guys have it and can help me. My Palm Treo phone will not find any bluetooth connections when I'm in the car but on the navi screen I see a bunch of phone nubmers that the previous owner called.

NOW. THE IPOD PART

http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives...d_at_last.html

I have ipod touch 2G and i can pay 9.95 to get the bluetooth unlocked on my ipod. MY QUESTIONS IS WILL I BE ABLE TO USE THE BLUETOOTH MODULE THAT I ALREADY HAVE WITH MY IPOD TOUCH AND LISTEN TO MUSIC THAT WAY? ANY OF YOU HAVE DONE THAT OR THOUGHT ABOUT DOING IT. I think if it works it will be the best thing ever. I'm tired of using my FM transmitter.

for the ipod . first of all u can just "jail-break" it and you'll get bluetooth for free.

and second no you cant not play songs through bluetooth.

Correct. I have the 2G touch with 3.0 software and the bluetooth ability is really meant for pairing headphones.

I am extremely tired of my FM transmitter as well. I have an iPod touch as well and the transmitter doesn't even charge it so I have to carry around my dad's iPhone car charger.

Also the FM transmitter doesn't let you change track through the iDrive or more importantly the steering wheel.

You are out of luck. I had an '02 and I swear my motivation for going '06 and up was ipod integration. That and 100,000 miles and no warranty.

I haven't researched this a lot, as I don't have an iPod, but I did notice this iPod connection retrofit kit when poking around on realoem...if someone has some time, maybe call a dealer and see if they stock it.

Well, I just called a dealership and they said it was just for 03/2005 production and up. However, I'm tempted to go to the dealership and look for myself since it's listed for the 745. Anyone work at a dealership or shop that can verify?

Honestly, from behind the wheel it's almost impossible to tell the difference. The interior and features are identical. From a ride/power perspective, again, pretty much the same. From an exterior standpoint, it mostly the rear end which differentiates the two looks. I like the rear end a little better on the 06+. It's a little more subtle, but I liked the older look as well. Although the noses are different, it's pretty hard to tell with a quick glance unlike the tail. There a bunch of other crap that they "improved" that I first noticed but weren't that big of a deal or I would recite them. Stuff like idrive was redesigned slightly and it is a bit faster. The menu button is new. Power mirrors on 07+. Little stuff.

Of course the ipod kit is the deal maker for me on 06+. I like my music.

If I were you I would keep your 05 given the low mileage.

Yeah I was thinking the same and my car is super clean, the dealer was impressed. Actually just as clean or better then the 06LI I was looking at. The 06 is identical because I love my cars color and the little things like the chrome on the door handles etc..power rear ahades, conveinance package all which is a must but like u said they are so similiar isnt almost doesnt justify me trading an 05 for an 06..ill let u know the verdict
