Mechanic recommendation - San Francisco
I am having issues with my 1987 528e. The car starts up but conks out. I think there is an issue with the fuel lines (I've changed the fuel pump).
The car is old and I don't want to sink more money than I have to at this point. Is there a reasonable mechanic in San Francisco who knows older BMWs? Any help is appreciated! |

Did you replace the fuel filter?
Have you tried disconnection a fuel line in the engine compartment and seeing if you are getting gas? Andy |

it could be the spark and not the feul system
check your spark plugs, wires, cap, roter, and coil |

Thanks, I am trouble-shooting remotely. It's my father's car. So far he's done the fuel filter and pump and check the fuses and relays.
Andy, sounds like a good idea. Don't like the thought of 87 in my face...lol Sortma20, thanks for the suggestion. Which component would you start with? |
