Buying 01 X5 4.4i
Thinking about buying a 2001 X5 4.4i with 100K miles for a foul weather vehicle. What should look out for?

Sorry man, didn't see it till now.
I bought a X5 3.0i in January 83k. The ccv oil seperator is something that should be checked if not replaced this fall and every other after that. The water and condensation gathers inside the lines. On a cold day it will freez and cause some nasty pressure build up and could blow your head gasket. That's what happened to mine the second day I owned it. dealer fixed for free. I drained all the oil, trans fluid, coolant, differential fluid just to be safe. hang out here and you will learn a lot. Learn to do your brake jobs yourself must replace pads and ROTORS each time. $1300 if you do all four at the dealer. $450 if you do it yourself. It's easy to do I taught myself. The 4.4 is very nice! I LOVE my 3.0!!! |
