Replaced Trans and Fail Safe mode is on AGAIN!
Hello,
About 3 months ago I was driving across the state in pouring rain and my x5 (2003 3.0) went into Fail Safe Mode. I took it to a shop that "specializes" BMW transmissions and they told me I need to replace the trans, I wasn't surprised since I was at 155k. It ran great for about 3 months and once more I was driving across the state in the pouring ran yesterday and it went into Fail Safe Mode....AGAIN. This morning the warning was gone and it seemed to drive fine but later this afternoon it came on once more. Any insight would be MUUUUUCH appreciated. Thanks! Tony
