Any yota after 1984 came with a stouter five-speed with a removable aluminum bellhousing and four different versions of these were used through 1995 behind four-cylinder engines. From 1986-1995
And with your 22RTE four-cylinder can be interchanged with any geardriven case or chaindriven case through 95. The 23-spline input will hold up to higher horsepower and is ideal for V6- and V8-swaps The later-model chaindriven cases were paired with the V6 engine and have five bolts used to secure the rear cover. (if you can find these injunkyards for cheap DO IT they are sought after) so yeh if you plan on going on crazy offroad adventures or climbing the snow hills in the walmart parking lot you should swap to a chain driven case.. your particular version tends to explode and blow chucks of gears all over the trail... ask me how i know...
I have 4 or 5 toyota build books laying around in my living room BTW, if you have in questions just let me know

I don't have a 22RTE, 22RE is what i have. 22RTE is turbo'd, hence the "T". I don't plan on going off roading. I only plan on driving it when i need to get e30 parts and winter duty. Ofcourse when my e30 is down too.

i gotta quick question for you goons...

15x6.5" wheels with +40 offset.... Will they fit without rubbing against the coilovers? I believe the OE bottle caps are 6.5" wide and have an et of +35 and they work fine.

Any ideas?

Ok guys, looking to trade my bike for either of these and possibly cash on top, whattya think:

86 turbo 325is, claims 310hp on only 10psi? He's running megasquirt which is a positive, sounds like it got a legit tune. Little rust on the rockers, paint bubbling on trunk..
http://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/cto/2089832511.html

This one looks really clean, and if there is truly no rust it'd almost be worth it to me, cant find any w/o the floors rusted out around here
Also, it is auto, but if the tranny is the same in the 91 318is, I'd swap it out and part out the rest of it.. Also, Im wondering if he just replaced the springs, or if he's still running stock struts?

depends how your coilovers are installed, and what type of coilovers they are

on standard struts they would fit if that helps

I told you 2000 times. Only if I have an empty stomach. Did something to my back at work. When I got home ate scrambled eggs and ham and took one. Felt good for a while.

I'd have to see a dyno sheet to believe that. But It doesnt look like a bad setup looks like hes running coil-on-plugs thats pretty cool. Ive seen a few m20s with that. But that ix is clean as hell but I dont trust the awd system on e30s.

BestBuy is doing a sale on kicker subs. Buy one get one free. I'm thinking about picking up a set of 12", 1 for the truck and 1 for the e30. 100 bucks for 2 12" kickers.

I ended up not going. I want subs but it's stupid, I need a new m50 before I go buying anything else. Then it's all collecting parts after that for the new build coming next winter

Probably a good choice, you gonna mod the M50 or keep it stock?
