E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

i've never once worried about the cooling system on my m20, my 24v was a different story.

Actually, this is true ... although when I first bought the e30 I was trippin balls when the temp gauge was hitting the red and then back down.. Took me a while to get used to lol

Anddd still leaking. Been driving around for a few mins to see if the coolant would settle and it still leaks slowly. Park the car, check under the hood and still see coolant dropping. It does look like its due to overflowing though sooo idk. Might just keep driving till it stops? The temp doesnt rise after its normal operating temp.

M7?

Sorry I don't have any photos to show proof, but I saw one of the lamest things yesterday. A brand new F01 (still had dealer plates) with an M7 badge. Common people, any real BMW enthusiast is going to know right away there is no such thing; so why bother and make a damned fool of yourself. It would smoke my car hands down, but why do these jerks have to tarnish the brand? It made me look bad cruising next to him so I pulled away.

Also know as the alpine b7 which will smoke your car and leave you crying because it was so tariffing. It is the best 7 seires of are time. Still would never buy one. The B7 not the real M7 that bmw said they were working on.

yeah its pointless. The only people that care would know its not an M7. its like if i saw a vtec badge on the back of a honda. id see it, but id just assume its stock because i dont know what models had it and what didnt. same as TRD badges on Toyotas. but your not going to gain any respect just because you have badges, because your still driving a toyota or honda. they no doubt think the same way about bmws

So i should keep the 3.23 off the es instead of the 4:10? Both are lSD. This is for the 24v swap.

3.73 open right now .. I would like a 2.93 LSD just to help me with gas. A 3.23 would suffice though

both are no good for a 24V swap. I used a 3.67 which was too tall. A friend of mine used a 4.1 which was nice but economy was crap which may be importance to you if you do highway driving. 3.9 would be about ideal

no e30 ever came with a 3.23 ...

gearing also depends on what transmission you are running. not just what the diff ratio is.

Yeap, i should add that I used a Getrag 240. 260 ratios are very similar. If you use the 220 or 250 gearboxes you want a taller diff than my results and if you are using the E36 you want a shorter diff, so the 4.1 would be perfect in this case

People who do this kind of CR@P annoy the absolute daylights out of me!!!

A few weeks ago I had a job interview.
During the interview, the man who was interviewing me noticed my e30 outside of his window and started talking about it. He said how much he enjoyed bmws and has loved them his whole life. I told him how much I loved my little e30 and I started to tell him more about it when he interrupted me "correcting" me telling me that my e30 was, in fact an "e40."
I politely told him that I was positive that it was an e30 and that there was no such thing as an e40.
He then told me that it was because of "uneducated women" like me, that give female drivers a bad name!

After he said that I got up and told him that the interview was over because I was not interested in working for or with a complete idiot.
I made sure to prove what a good driver I was when I left their parking lot too just in case anyone was curious. :P

SOME PEOPLE!!!

Cars the race team owns:

m20b27 stroker, G260, 2.93

m20b25 G260, 3.73

s52b32, ZF, 3.25

m20b27 stroker turbo, g260, 3.42

m42b18 G240 (G260 clutch), 3.73

The s52 sits at 3800RPM at 80mph, hit almost 140mph on the back straight at Sebring last weekend. Little short for the street/mileage, perfect for a twisty track.

anyone have the main bearing bolt torque specs for an m52 ? the numbers on the internet range from 42-70ftlbs and as well as 1 site saying 20ftlbs then a 50 degree angle from there.

dont link me to a pdf or long site, i just need to confirm what the actual number is. majority of sites say 42ftlbs. ARP says 60ftlbs, but im not running ARP bolts.
