BMW transfer cases had essentially an internal diff with bands that distributed power how the engineers designed them too...

maybe on new ones. i know on an ix, the tcase uses a viscous coupling; basically a hydraulic clutch that engages the front and rear.



i dont know if you meant chain by bands, but it doesnt have bands like an AT does.

The engine applies torque to the planet gear carrier (part 14) via the driveshaft (part 3). The sun gear (center gear of the planetary set, part 9) gets 37% of the torque and applies it to the front driveshaft via the chain. The ring gear (outer gear of the planetary set, part 17) gets 63% of the torque and applies it directly to the rear drive shaft. The outer case of the viscous clutch (part 32) is splined to the sun gear via the cover (part 13). The inner splines of the viscous clutch are splined directly to the output shaft (part 18).

Why? If the pilot is stuck, it doesn't matter who you give it to lol.

Posted that on another forum and 2 people said it happened to them IN the car. One took 3 weeks to get out, the other took several days.

Any compressor or one that can keep up? The stupid HF compressor is still pumping but can't keep up anymore

it can keep up with more than most shops could throw at it.

Ingersoll Rand model 2475. 7.5HP, 2 stage, 80 gallon tank, like new. it came with an Ingersoll Rand dryer (model D72IN) as well as all the copper lines, valves, filters and even the relay box off the wall.

All of it came from a multi-million dollar company who paid to have it fully serviced every year. the company was sold to a larger corporation so the facility was being closed. the sales woman posted it on CL at around 10:00 in the morning on the 10th. i was browsing cl for an IR compressor like i have been for weeks. she emailed me back the following morning (a mass email) at 7:30. email said first come, first served. you better believe that at 9 in the morning, when i saw my phone had an email, i shot out of bed and was over there with cash in hand almost immedietly. luckily it was only 3 miles from my house. i gave her the cash and said id be back in a few hours to pick it up(i had to find a truck). when i came back she told me she had over a dozen angry calls and over 20 pissed off emails from other people who were coming to purchase the stuff later today or tomorrow.

over $3500 worth of equipment .. i picked all of it up for CHEAP

I dont really game at all, last games i finished was GTA-SA and before that Diablo II back in the day and really enjoyed it so i thought id get III and see how it goes

seems to me II was better in terms of gameplay, obviously graphics are different. dislike how you can only assign one special skill for each type at a time, but obviously the CoOp play is quite cool and infinite teleports. maybe gameplay experience changes by character type?

In anycase, if you have it, add each other and thoughts?

Made some clocks out of old timing chains and gears...



also made this guy out of a used pilot bearing, wheel bearing, welding rod and a washer...

should have machined 1-12 inbetween each hole cutout. that chainwheel has the perfect amount of holes in it for that. m30 chainwheel ?

Thanks. Some people suggested to use the holes as the numbers, but then the timing mark wouldn't be at 12.

Timing set from an iron head 3.1 GM 60 degree v6.

Made another one from a timing chain out of a 3.5 GM 60v6...



Also made this little guy out of a washer, welding rod, parts pof a wheel bearing and his "roller blades" are out of pilot bearing lol..

so we all know im the wierdo that doesnt really see the point in putting undue stress on thier car by doing burnouts and so forth.

went to a farm-party last night and a few of my mates were keen to take thier cars out for a bit of paddock bashing. I thought id give it a go seeing as i hadnt done anything like that before. was great fun for maybe 20 minutes or so. then after maybe my 3rd or 4th turn pulled in for the next guy, and then when got in my car, gearstick is like stirring a pot of porridge.

get underneath the car and have a look, yep linkage hanging down, somehow disconnected itself from the back of the gearbox. I must have not done it up properly when i did my clutch, which is surprising given i have done easily 3000km since that swap! maybe just the sustained vibrations of the engine sitting around 5000rpm, it has only been up to that for a few seconds not even a half dozen times since i owned the car.

luckily its only a 15 minute fix, but i think its a win to the Japanese cars this time.

I'm not a fan of Maguires products at all. So not me.

Clay bar works good. Beyond that, not so much. Look for a local automotive paint supplier and the salesman will point you to the proper 3m products.

When I get a new paint job, I'm definitely getting a clay bar. But for now, it makes no sense to clay bar chipped and ruined paint
