Trying to post an embedded D90 video

Folks, I tried and tried but cannot figure how to embed a video... When I copy/paste the embed code from vimeo, it gets chopped off and of course, no video is showing up.

Can anybody here help, please?

Here is what I've figured out so far:
- You cannot have an embedded vimeo movie - you can only post the link
- You can have an embedded youtube video, just put the link in the post and the board software will recognize the link, parse it and embed the video

Other boards behave slightly differently (for example, some recognize the [u2b][/u2b] tags).

Old topic but wanted to answer it based on my experiences:

1) If Youtube: Use the 'Insert Link' function; pretty easy.

2) If Vimeo, then it will depend if the user/owner of that video allows embedding. With Vimeo, there are more levels of privacy control than with YT. If you own the vid from Vimeo, just set the privacy controls accordingly and so it can be embedded. If it's not your video/vimeo account that you're at the mercy of the owner.

Per my Vimeo privacy setting on each video:
Where can this video be embedded?
Anywhere – Enable people to embed this video on any site
Nowhere – Do not allow anyone to embed this video
Only on sites I choose – I'll specify sites on which people can embed this video

On a related note, I find Vimeo much easier to work with vs. YT. More freedom to use copyrighted music (assuming vid is for educational/instructional purposes) and more granular privacy, video downloads etc.

Good luck and happy posting!
