Laptop case recommendation needed

Looking for a lightweight but well padded laptop case, slim as possible. Top-loading preferable.

Currently looking at the Brenthaven Glove, which looks quite excellent. Was wondering if anyone had any opinions on that one, or other cases that are similar?

I have a man bag for each purpose.

The Amtrak man bag, made by Kenneth Cole, which carries a Thermos of coffee, a travel pillow, several magazines, and my standard assortment of nerd tools and nerd tool chargers.

The consultant man bag, made by Targus, branded by IBM, which carries a laptop, every known computer cable ever made and tools to make more cables, 3 handheld network testers, and an assortment of laptop batteries.

The detailing man bag, origin unknown, but had a company logo on it, which holds dozens of containers of detailing fluids, towels of all shapes and sizes, and various miscellaneous things for the car.

and, I'm looking for the geek-on-the-go man bag, which carries a laptop, power supply and a few cables.

Does she trip you because she's the sole beneficiary of your $1 million life insurance policy?

I have a Tamrac camera bag that is VERY well padded. They make computer bags too... and I would think the quality would be on par.

Think of all the shoes she'd buy.

Some time ago I was looking for something that would hold my 770ED while be usable with the machine in the bag, without it being too huge. The only one I could find at the time was a Tumi.

But I saw a Halliburton on clearance a couple of weeks later, and it's totally impractical but it looks so cool so that's what I have.

Someone at work has a Shaun Jackson Design "Lapdog" case. This one is pretty neat because it unfolds like a little desk with the laptop attached.
