X3 Nav Screen has a mind of its own!

Hi everyone.
Recently the Mrs. and I bought an '05 X-3. Love the car, but the Navigation Screen has a mind of its own. It pops part way up, then closes, then a little more up, then closes then shuts down altogether, then finally it may or may not open.

WTF??

I tried to Lube the pivot points, but that didn't help. The manual says nothing on this and after searching Bimmerfest, it seems that I'm the only one in the world with this problem! (Not likely)

So WHAT GIVES???

I'm reasonably adept at turning a wrench or two, but being somewhat lazy, I don't really want to tear the dash apart if there's an easy button somewhere to push.

Please let me know if you've heard of this problem before.

I had the problem and I would think many others have had it also. Mine only did it once in awhile. Went to JMK BMW and they replaced the screen unit and its been working fine.
