my car sounds like a wind up toy =/

(im still learnin so sorry for bein a nub haha) whenever i take it into the highrer rpm range (about 500 ish), my car sounds like an older honda civic (like a battery powered cr for those who dont know civics). ive never heard the noise before, then again i only take it that high when im trying to get up to speed with traffic. is that somethin normal or somethin wrong? once again, sorry for the nubness lol

does it happen in every gear, just 1st-3rd, 4th? mine did have a winding noise to it and that was because a syncronizer was out and cause the tranny fluid to be heavy metallic paste. mainly happened in 3rd gear. also knowing if your car has a 5spd or auto will help too

its possible that your fan clutch seized up and your fan spins at every rpm now. That gives a sound similar to what you're describing. Is it more of a whine or a howl?
