check engine light came on

So I took the car in sine I have it under the CPO. They took a look at it and said the MAF was bad. They replace the part and sent me on my way. A week later the light came back on and I took it in. This time they said that the rubber hose for the intake boot is bad. I passed on getting the part fixed since it was $350 to get it done. Any one know what might need to get fix? I ask if it was the one from the MAF to the intake, they said it was the lower one. I took a look when I got home and I don't see a lower one, am I missing something?

This went bad on my 330i......i think it's like a 25 dollar part!

But that doesn't look like a $350 job. Maybe they are referring to a hose from the CVV which is hidden below there and much harder to access.

There's a famous "elbow" little hose that goes down the main intake tube. This is prone to cracking and it's known to cause a "whistle" is like $18 at the dealer and you can replace it yourself.
Question-Why are they not honnoring the CPO for this? I'm kind of thinking that, that was the real problem in the first place...
Do a search on the e46 forum for "elbow hose" for a lot of info.
