49000 miles on my 2008 535xi
So far: Multiple visits for Hpfp until finally recalled. I think 4 in all. Creaking sound from window seals first dry lubed which didn't work then replaced a month later under warranty. Drivers seat tore which was replaced under warranty. New battery Battery cable recall. Just told that Mech sleeve is leaking and will need replaced. 3rd set of front brakes and rotors. Original rear brakes. Western pa has bad roads and many hills and turns. I enjoy driving the car but hate the quality issues that end up wasting your time going back and forth for repair work. This past Friday I hit 70k in my 2011 528. I know this the E60 community, but I do have more miles than many here.

2007 E60 550i just ticked over 47,500. Bought it with 46,200 miles about 3.5 weeks ago. Nothing but an auxiliary water pump so far although I hear the active front stabilizer bars are seeping..

84800 on my 08 535i. W/extended warranty. (Def worth it)
Water pump replaced. Periodic High Battery Drain. Brakes replaced at 26k. Spark plugs replaced at 30k. Bought with 24k miles in 2010. I can hear my AC compressor pretty loud these days, may be time for a replacement soon. |

I have about 65k on my 2007 550 and haven't had any bad mechanical issues..none that I've had to pay for myself. I should mention that I'm incredibly picky and the dealer probably hates me..oh well...they're legitimate issues though
1. anti trap: not a big deal, just needs to be reset 2. sunroof wouldn't close without assist; they replaced the track...it still has lots of wind noise due to the fact that it looks like the glass has been replaced at some point, but curvature isnt' quite right. I keep the sunroof slide shut to keep out the noise. 3. I currently have a rattle as I shift gears...ongoing issue, but doesn't seem to affect performance or anything...actually brought it in today and will follow up next week. *maintenance is important!! I think BMW says to change oil yearly or every 15k miles...This depends on your driving habits personally. I drive pretty hard (my opinion) and only at about 8k and think its ready to be changed now. I actually had to add a quart about 4 months ago...not sure whats up with that..maybe the last change was short or something, but thats the only time I've had to add in the year I've owned it. |

Skippy, I realize this is an old post, but I had the same problem with my sun roof, and they replaced the track...no charge to me, and so I'm not 100% that it was diagnosed correctly, but thought I'd provide my feedback. |

I have had to replace gateway module in trunk at 139,000 miles (had gallon of washer fluid spill in trunk). |

Sorry, but the 530i was not built in 2010, 2007 was last year for this model.
I have a 2010 528XI with 38,000 mils with no problems to report. |

Your clue should have been the poster expressing his mileage in kilometers. Outside the US the 530i continued to be called the 530i through the end of the E60 model series. http://www.automobile-catalog.com/ca.../bmw_530i.html I too learned the hard way to be careful correcting people on the name and year of their own car when I questioned a gentleman in Europe talking about his 2003 E60. Later I learned that unlike the US introduction of the E60 in 2004, the E60 model series was introduced in Europe as a 2003 model and shipped as early as late fall of 2002. |

The 530i was only sold until 2007 in the US BUT outside the US it was still sold until the last production year. My 530i has the updated N52K engine with 200KW or around 268HP to be precise. Who said i was from the US? I also learned the hard way not to question people so much . . . Last edited by UltimateDriving; 01-05-2013 at 11:08 PM. |
