Mine is vermillion, and has been in the VPC since the 9th. Please let us know when yours arrives at your dealer; it will give me a good since of my remaining wait!

nice options. everything but the kitchen sink. I stopped by my dealer today. I'm status 150 - in production (don't tell the 1-800 #) and a VIN has been assigned to the vehicle.

Did I miss a checkbox for a kitchen sink? Darn!
I didn't see a need for the heads up display (I know someone is going to flame me for saying that...), and the rear seat DVD player looked really cheesy. I am having a friend order me an aftermarket set of screens and a DVD player that go in the driver's headrests. It's $900 wholesale, and he'll install it at no charge.
Otherwise, I don't think I left much out.
You have a VIN and in production? Jealous! I can't stand waiting...
Please post some info on your PCD experience so the rest of us can live vicariously through you while we wait!

Im 25 days from PCD delivery, so I'm wearing a whole in the carpet pacing for the calendar to change. I ordered 9-14, with nothing changing until 10-5 when I went to 112 status. Everything started to click late last week. PCD now offers a dash cam you can rent for $50 to record your experience on an SD card. I may post if I don't srew up too bad.

I hear the kitchen sink is Bavarian Porcelain...the drain is in the shape of a roundel.........you may want to reconsider.....

Yeah, the dash cam is gonna be awesome. Much better than our last PCD and visits down when we tried to use our own camera to take video. I would have gladly forked over much more than $50! Two weeks from today and yet it still seems SOOOO far away!

PDC delivery date but still no production date

I have been monitoring this board as we are waiting for production of my wife's 2010 X5d, thanks for everyones posts.

It has been my experience that both the web and the phone are not very reliable. The best source of information is your CA. Our CA sent us an e-mail on Friday that production started and we our confirmed for an 11/5 PDC for my wife's 2010 X5d. When I check the web it moved from on order to scheduled for production, and if I check the phone it still passes scheduled for production with no production date. My CA tells me production should complete this week. Also an FYI for anyone considering the performance delivery the factory is only working a 4 day work week M - Th. No factory tours for Friday's deliveries.

Since I took delivery of a 1 series convertible this summer at the PDC, I am sending my teenage son with my wife to pick up the X5 and drive home to Atlanta.

Friday & Monday slots always fill up fastest anyway. In other words MORE WAITING.

Just to let everyone out there know what I know so far:

I checked with Jonathan from the Performance Center to see if the delays would be a problem for my 11/2 delivery. He says that these delays are not uncommon when switching from one model year to the next. Also he says it's expected to be worked out this week.

Stopped by my CA yesterday and his PC screen indicated I was at status 150, and a VIN number had been assigned to my vehicle.

The 800# was updated this AM to indicate my vehicle was in the paint shop with an expected completion date of 10-22.

Vehicle was ordered on 9-14, with production # assigned on 10-5. PCD on 11-13.

Good news! You got a production number two weeks before I did, so the estimate I got of late November might be accurate after all. I was hoping it would be sooner...

Update: I just logged onto the site, and saw my option packages appeared! Previously, it showed no options at all - my car took a production slot for a vermillion red/beige interior stripper model. The colors haven't updated yet, but hey, at least something happened. I am such a geek...

Once I discovered this options quirk during the build of my 35d I used to check the BMW USA site a couple of time a day just for grins. Usually the options list would be correct only once a day. The other times the list would be missing one option or list no options at all.

It is pretty clear that BMW has web site designers that are far more interested in FLASH gizmos than providing clear and accurate data even to paying customers. After all BMW already has you by the short hairs

Agreed. I would much rather see a simple, accurate, useful site than the long loading, slow bu tstylish site they have now.
I log on for the info, not the style template!

Of course, it could just be a way to keep getting us excited, in case we think that the changes mean something is actually happening with our vehicle

Speaking of options... Is the heated steering wheel a stand-alone option or only part of the cold weather package?

It use to be a standalone option, but now it's only available (in the U.S.) as part of the cold weather package.

Had it been available as a standalone, I would have ordered it. But since I have no use for heated rear seats, I didn't want to pop an extra $700 over the front heated seats option to get the cold weather package, since all I would get of additional utility to me in the cold weather package was the heated steering wheel.

Considering how many people order their BMWs, as opposed to buying off the lot, you would think they would allow more "customizing" of the individual options. Porsche is pretty good at that, although the options really add-up fast.

Actually, option 225 Sports leather steering wheel is only available as part of the Sports Activity Package (ZAP).
The option available with the Cold Weather Package (ZCW) is option 248 Heated steering wheel (does not specify leather or not)

If you get ZAP & ZCW, you will have a heated sports leather steering wheel.

Thanks for the info. I'm in the same boat as you. I'd love it as a stand alone option with heated front seats. But not paying for the whole package just to get that.

Nice car specs you have on order. Exact same as what I want in terms of exterior and interior color and trim. Looking forward to seeing pics when you take delivery!
