2005 730d

Hi All,

Name is Leonard and although I just registered, I have been trawling the forum for a while during my research phase.

So I picked her up yesterday, my first BMW, a jet black 730d (Yes a diesel). Its going in next week for a transfer of what we call the Motorplan and for a check-up, and I love her already.

Has 91,000 KM's on it, but I took an extended motor plan and will extend it again in a years time. I am waiting on the build sheet from the dealer, and will then post the extra's with some photies.

In South Africa, the most common model is the 730d due to its low fuel usage, and we have no diesel premiums like you have in the states, as a matter of fact, Diesel is cheaper, so considering total cost of ownership, its worth it.

I am a car nut and an Audiophile of note, have been for many years, so you can expect some contribution from me on that front. My first retrofit would be a completly removable sub woofer implementation and I have a couple of idea's already of using a hipass filter off of one of the rear subs for analog signal, tapping power off the boot, and I believe there is an acc position on the wiring for the tobar, but still need to check this out. Will keep you posted on this one.

I am also looking in to having the BMW standard I-Pod kit fitted, but looking at the dension audio gateway as well, but I need to keep my warentee, and want to be able to do a 15 minute unistall and re-install for when the vehicle goes in for a service, so I dont know about that one.

Will send some photies tomorrow.

Here is my car history for interest sake, buttom up
2005 - BMW 730d - Very Current
1979 - Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 400 with T-Tops - Project car - Current
2006 - Golf 5 2.0 Sportline - Wife's Car - Current

1994 - Honda Ballade 150i - Sold

Now some Photies

Hi All,

Here are some pics, sorry about the quality, my camera sucks.

I have added one of my Pontiac as well just for fun, that one I am going to start stripping in December, not that its has anything to do with the 7, although its probably going to go the same color
