645 MP3 Data gathering thread
I think we need some data to begin to figure out what is really going with regard to this highly desired capability.
If you have a 645 and have either: a) successfully had it modified to play MP3's in the in-dash Nav CD or b) been unsuccessful in having it modded to play MP3's in the in-dash Nav CD Please reply to this thread whether you meet condition a, or b, and what the listed build date of your car is from the inside of the drivers door. I'd like to ask the last 5-6 digits of your VIN, but I'm not sure it's wise to get that info out in the open for all our cars. Maybe I've overly cautious.

i heard the 06 models should be able to play it with no mod needed but i cant dunno my build date yet but it was in 06 just dont remember what month

I have an 05 645 Vert and I had the MP3 upgrade done and it works fine. But either I burn my Cd's wrong or the CD player need cleaned as I get a lot of skips.

Can anyone PM me the MP3 TSB, I have asked the dealer about it and an indy shop and neither one knows what I am talking about. I had my iDrive updated last month and it didn't give me the ability to play Mp3's. Is it a separate software upgrade?
