World's simplest DIY ... how to avatar on bimmerfest

The question always comes up how to avatar so I figured I'd start the world's simplest bimmerfest DIY (without any of the really bad jokes).

Step 0. For instant gratification, pay $9 USD (or 9 Euros, go figure)
Step 1. Or, for free, write at least 100 posts (then the avatar option will be available to you)
Step 2. Once avataring is available to you, log into bimmerfest and press on "User CP" (at the top left)
Step 3. Find a relevant image on the Internet or make your own avatar (like I did)
Note: Don't get too fancy with the picture 'cuz you're gonna ruin it in the next step.
Step 4: Shrink the image to 40KB or 120x90 pixels.
Step 5: Upload your new customized avatar to bimmerfest
Step 6: Hit the "Save Changes" button.

Regarding relevance ... you really want your avatar to represent something about YOU. For example, blue is the color of my BMW (hence my moniker of "blue B"); and my avatar has 6 bees on the blue flower (it's the same pie section reproduced 6 times in a circle). The point is that the avatar should be representative of you, in some way, shape, or form (consider avataring as an intelligence test of sorts).

Blue, you really have lots of time on your hands.......

I have a faster and free way to get to the much desired avatar:

1. Go to New Member Introduction section and post to the last 100 threads: "Welcome to Bimmerfest ".

2. Go to Off Topic section and post " OMG you're so funny" after each lame joke (all posts there are jokes).

Within about 15 minutes you can have your avatar.

What is the best way to go about changing your username. I have left a request in the suggestions forum and after almost 2 weeks, no one has even acknowledged me. Got it. Thanks.
