Checking battery fluid/ '95 318

I checked FAQ under battery-no luck.
Do I need to check battery fluid levels ? Miata battery is located in trunk as well and uses a gel battery to avoid fumes.
Is BMW the same?
I need an owners manual, must check local junk yards for a cheap one!

Check and see If you have a sealed battery.
