X5 3.0 spark plug replacement

Hey guys, my wife has a 2005 x5 3.0 that may need spark plugs replaced. Now, I know how to replace plugs, I just haven't figured out how to remove the plastic cover contraption connected to the plugs. I am NOT talking about the engine cover. My E46 has metal clips securing the connectors, this X5 does not. Any qualified help is appreciated

Well, if it's like my 2004 Z4, you sort of pull-up on the end near the electrical plug, and the plastic top rotates upwards and pushes the plug out at the same time.

P.S. II don't know if that passes for "qualified."

Check out this picture of coils for sale. You can see better where the top piece pivots, if yours are like this (standard BMW coils look like this, except for the color).

Yeah, that's what I am talking about. Thanks for doing the legwork here, Penguin.

The X5's 3.0i is similar to the E46 330i. Follow this link for complete DIY instructions => http://www.linquist.net/motorsports/bmw/plugs

Changed them today. Piece of cake. Let me note that dkl's link above needs to add one more step and that is... use a flathead screwdriver to gently snap clip into the up position and eject the coil plug harness then pull the coil straight up.
I hope that my questions helped others and may I reiterate that this is too easy not to do yourself.
Thanks again guys.
