Winter Wheels/Tires?

As winter approaches, I have been debating getting a set of dedicated winter wheels and tires.
My interest is in saving the winter beating on my wheels as well as snow tires.
We get lots of snow here (150" last winter) and salt is rough on the wheels.

I did two winters with my '07 with the stock wheels and Michelins so I know it can be done.
However, the traction could be better and the wheels were already showing it.

My '09 has Pirelli's instead of Michelins which are probably only marginally better in snow and my wheels have not seen winter yet.

So, do you think it is worth the hassle/expense for a set of dedicated winter wheels?

Yes, if you plan to keep the vehicle for awhile. I don't know which part of PA you live in, but every time I drive through PA during even a mild snow storm, PennDOT is hopeless at snow removal and road treatment.
