I'm about to replace the pads on my '08 E60 with some Axxis Advanced Deluxe. I am looking for torque specs for this model and have not found them to date. Are these specs good for the E60 too? Thanks.

I went ahead and replaced my front pads today with the Axxis Advanced Deluxe. Cleaned the wheels while I was at it. Even after a good pad break-in of about 10 hard stops from 60 to 10 followed by some round-town driving to cool the breaks down, no discernable dust on the wheels. Brakes feel good too. Not quite as hard an initial bite as the OEM pads, but darn close. I actually like the feel of the Axxis pads for normal day-to-day driving. Once they bed in to the rotors a little more, I expect them to get even better.

Just want to say thanks to all who contributed to this thread. I did brakes all around this week and everything went great. The info here helped tremendously.

How exactly do you use this tool to compress?

To remove the brake sensor form the main wire, not from the pad... do I just pull apart or do I need to squeeze something? I cannot remove it. Also, I was planning to use some anti-sieze compound behind the rotor. Some people say this helps but it still might be a pain to remove. How about wax paper or plastic wrap? This should not break down and keep the two metal separated.

Jackstand location?
Where do you place the jack stands when doing the rear brakes on the 01 325i?
Can't place them at the jacking point because the jack is there. Thanks for any help. TC NEVER MIND. I found out. Thanks Last edited by tcseadoo; 07-18-2012 at 01:21 PM. |
