Shocks/struts question....which brand do you all think

I have a 2001 740ia that is having the famous 7 series shudder. So I am replacing the whole smash. Upper, lower, center link....and now I am looking at the front shock-struts as well. So what I would like to hear from anyone is KYB or Bilstein, or Sachs...any of you have experience with any of these? I appreciate any and all input.

We redid the entire front end on my 1996 with..gasp..Monroe sensa tracs. This was about 2 years/40k miles ago, and they're holding up really well. The handling is still crisp, and the ride is nice and smooth.

I would highly suggest buying/renting a front-end service kit - some of those ball joints are STUCK and won't pop no matter what you do. This is the one we used. A bit pricey, but the only alternative was having it towed to a shop. Managed to get $80 back by selling it on eBay once done

If you don't have the parts already, Amazon.com is a surprisingly good resource for E38 parts, really low prices too.
