How do I get the change cup out of the drivers door pocket?

I want to get the little cup with the lid out of the pocket in the drivers door. I pulled but it felt like it was going to break. I want to remove it without breaking it.

There are a couple of little plastic tabs on the change holder, they hook on the inboard (cockpit) side of the pocket. A small screwdriver or stiff feeler gauge may help to release them.

I pulled it out of both cars so I could carry my glass case.

My '02 didn't have it either, but has the center cup holder w/ coin thingy. I think that could be it since this piece has a label with the same production date as the car, so maybe it was an either/or factory option

Hmm, interesting. I might want to pick one of these up...since I'm deleting the center console cup holder/coin holder.

Anyone have one they wanna get rid of?

It's really useless (for the amount of room it takes up) in my opinion.

Parts data shows up to 9/99 for NA cars which we know isn't true.

Eh, yeah, and more expensive than it needs to be. If it were $10, then I'd get it for kicks.

Hopefully my center console front tray will be in on Monday morning and I can go pick it up, as well as a mouse pad to cut up for the rear cup part.

Anyone have any use for a center console/cupholder thingy?
