Installed new Knock Sensor, nice coolant leak now!

I got around to doing the 5 or so hour job of replacing my knock sensor. It wasn't too bad, just time consuming. The crappy part is that I didn't buy new gaskets for the coolant accumulator (which had to come off the back side). Now I've got a huge coolant leak which seems to be coming from the accumulator on the right side. I'm picking up the gaskets Monday, and I'll be getting up at the buttcrack of dawn to do it.

Has anyone had luck getting the accumulator off without disassembling the intake manifold? It looks like it may be possible...

Replaced the gaskets on the coolant accumulator, no more leak!

Wow taking that thing apart and putting it back on with out removing the intake manifld is a serious PITA. It's possible, just be ready and patient! Getting the water pipes lined up was soooo tedious

Now to cross my fingers and pray to the BMW gods that this knock sensor code doesn't come back!

Update: No more leak after the new gaskets, and no knock sensor code! Car now passes emissions

Jase:
I was considering writing up my own DIY, considering some of the resources I used were a little bit off for my particular year of 540i. Nothing major but some of the bolt sizes and positions were off, as well as couple extra parts that I needed to disassemble. Also a couple boults were supposed to be torx, but were 10mil...
