Interior/exterior trim questions

I have a CPO '06 X3 and I just noticed that the silver trim on the transmission handle is starting to peel. Knowing me I will pick at it until it looks like crap. I searched the parts book but can't seem to find that piece. Any ideas?

Also, is there a source for chrome exhaust tips? Mine kinda look half assed without any cover!

I think you need to buy the shift lever, though I am not 100% sure.
You can buy exhaust tips from dealer or there a plenty on ebay.

The selector lever knob for an automatic is Part 25 16 7 537 992 for the standard Pearlescent chrome that you have. It costs around $70.
If you wish to buy the wood shift knob, the part is 25 16 0 304 958 and it is substantially more expensive because it's wood as opposed to plastic (around $150)

If you are still under warranty, the shift lever/knob is covered. I've had 2 replaced free of charge on our MT.
Chrome tips can be had at the dealer or a supporting vendor/dealer for this site (name escapes me).

My painted chrome shift lever was covered under the new vehicle warranty. I don't know if it is covered under CPO, so if you have any warranty coverage left, get it fixed now -- and if it happens again, the part itself is covered under the standard 2-year parts warranty.

My shifter was peeling as well.
I mentioned it to my service advisor and they took care of it. I too had a cpo which was covered under the free maintenance and service etc.

Try your luck with that before you go spending some $$

Had a peeling shift knob here, as well. Dealer replaced it under the current warranty.
