Another Convertible Top Issue

Aside from the banding for the top requiring replacing, the semi-automatic top was working fine up to about a month ago. Suddenly, one day, I hit the "down button" for the top and nothing happened. I followed all the instructions for re-synching the top but when I came to the last portion when the cover is supposed to close fully and the the top to begin to go up again nothing happened. At this point I closed the top manually. Recently I tried to put the top down just to see what would happen. To my surprise, the top went down as it did previously but when the cover would not close fully. Ther was a couple inch gap between the cover and the body.
At this point I'm not sure whether something is still out of sync. or what the issues are. At first I thought the cables weren't closing the locks completely but the did before so they should'nt require replacement or adjustment.

Any ideas?
