Mein Auto: 2009 328 xdrive
Smile Odd noise from dashboard resolved (hopefully)

I had posted my experience with a very odd rattle/noise my '09 328 xdrive here:

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...600&highlight=

Finally, the noise became literally unbearable. Unpredictable (of course), but more frequent and louder. I scheduled an appointment with the dealer and prayed for the noise to occur when I was at drop off.

On the way to the dealer, the noise appeared, though not as loudly as usual. I was able to drive for quite a bit with a tech who noted the problem, probed the dashboard, tried different seat positions, had us make all kinds of turns, stops . . . I have to give the guy credit, he seemed to really want to find the source.

After five days at the dealer, I picked up the car. The dealer noted that they believe the noise was coming from the windshield cowl, where the wipers attach at the bottom of the windshield. They disassembled the cowl and removed it, resealed along the windshield, replaced the cowl and resealed that as well.

Even if the noise returns, I have to give credit to the dealership. Treated me with respect, listened carefully to my observations, and respected my time and frustration.

So far, no noise! I'm hoping this is the end of a brief, but annoying, saga.

I hope this helps anyone else who experiences this type of noise.

Now, about those Bridgestone run-flats . . .
