325i Power Window failure
I own a 92 325i 4 door and my windows are not working. Long story short I drove to work and the windows were working fine; then I got in to my car to go home and they didnt work. I posted a thread a month ago (about the time the windows stopped working) asking for any advise on fixing this and everyone replied with "probably a fuse in the fuse box". There is NO fuse in the fuse box under the hood for the power windows believe me I've checked. I did recieve a reply that said it could be the comfort relay under the steering wheel. If anyone agrees or has any other suggestions please let me know. Thanks

How is there no fuse for power windows. It can't be. Dont look for window fuse, check them ALL.

They're all good, none are broken. I replaced the central locking system fuse a month ago; now my locks are working fine, but still no windows. FYI my sunroof is working. Also are my window switches suppose to light up when I turn on the headlights? Cause mine dont, but that might not be a problem.

There is a button on the right of the steering wheel, make shure it is not activate. It sh.uts the power to all windows but not to the sunroof. |

92 was a strange year as it was a transition period from e30 to e36. I found in my BMW ETM2 that your power windows could have power flowing through fuse 13 (5A) and fuse 14 (30A) or not be fused at all (as well as the sunroof), using the comfort relay as your over voltage protection. Be wary of fuses as they can appear to be ok and actually have a break at a non-visible location.
If you have a model using the comfort relay, it can only be the comfort relay or a bad ground.

Damn that pic is useless.. It simply shows how power comes from the power distribution box (fuse box) to the comfort relay and so on.

I had a similar problem, my front passenger window stopped working than a couple weeks later my front driver side window came off the tracks. hopfully its a simple problem because if you wind up having to take the door panel off and fix the motor ull wind up with a hugeeee headache

it's probably a cold solder joint on your comort relay...it's probably only one suspect leg on the relay with the cold solder...--i resoldered the leg and everything worked as advertised...
