I'm doing some research into the ESS tune for use here in California, since we only get 91 octane, I'm wondering how many have this tune and use 91 octane. If you have any experiences, please share, thanks.

I have the ESS tune on my 03' Z4 and run on 91 with no problem. I have been told nevertheless, that it will adjust to higher octane fuels very well. At least the tune that I have, which is meant for the TM-12 supercharger with larger injectors etc. I am running mine without the supercharger right now (long story) and still it runs great. I want to try some higher octane fuel/race gas, but I have not been able to find any yet...not that I have looked that hard.

Jut get the bloody tune!
I thought I was procrastinator of the century, I now gladly pass the torch to you ![]() It really woke my car up, all the throttle hesitation is now gone, and its so much smoother through the rev range, They also re-map the VANOS and that pulls much smoother and consistent, It also makes the engine sound meaner too lol Also pulling away is smoother, ESP in sport mode, Sport mode is actually even more fun now, Overall I'm very very happy and only wish I'd done it sooner Also to compliment it take a look over on M3forum for people selling 3.91 and 4.10 diff swaps,
