DIY - F10 N55 water pump

BavAuto has a two part video here on changing the N series water pump.

I finally got a chance to do mine this week and like to share some feedback. The video is pretty straightforward. However, on my 2012 535, the setup is a little different.

I purchased the water pump, bolts, thermostat and inlet and outlet hose. What I learned is that you don't have to do the thermostat and water pump at the same time. On the 535, the thermostat can be accessed from the top. It is not attached to the water pump.

With that said, if you just want to change the water pump only, the process is very similar to the video and quite easy. It's changing the thermostat that took the most time for me. It is a very tight fit to get it out and put back in.
