7 Series - E65 / E66 (2002 - 2008)
Discussion of BMW's 4th generation E65/E66 7 Series flagship. The E65 generated much controversy, due to its radical styling and iDrive user difficulties. Nonetheless, the E65 broke records to become the best-selling 7-series iteration ever, especially after its 2005 facelift.

True. However mine has both and yet they said it was VIN specific and mine was not included. Fwiw

thats the wierd part, the fix is a software upgrade for this. Why not do it as a courtesy to customers that come in. On the CAS that will be covered in another recall that they will have the fix for in March, and guess what the solution is: a software update. Its on the roll away recall, its documented but they cannot duplicate the problem.

Is there anyway to disable soft close altogether? My driver door has now ceased to (soft close) but luckily "firmly" closes just fine. Fearful of any further damage or it deciding not to latch. All other doors operate as they are supposed to but since nobody in my family appreciates or cares about this feature (more hassle to explain to passengers) i am fine eliminating before any other problems.
