Brake Rotors.

I will need brakes soon. which one would you buy
Zimmerman or ATE rotors.
at oembimmerparts.com the Zimmerman cost for all four is $560
at FCPeuro parts for ATE is at $769
plus shipping and taxes

I've always had great success with Zimmerman plus FCP has lifetime warranty...even on rotors. You wear them out or warp a rotor and they will replace them.

I thought FCP euro stocked Zimmerman.

I really like FCP euro for the warranty alone. Use the part number in the search engine furiousmethod.com to check for the best price on parts.

I have be using ECP Yellow stuff for my car. they hold up great at the track, and I cannot perceive a difference on the street other than the low dust.

I'd like to think I got fcp to start stocking the brake kits for the F01,02 as I used to purchase their 4 corner brake kits for the E66 that came with Zimmerman and akebono products lol at one point a year or so ago I had corresponded via email with a gentlemen from FCP and he had assembled the Kit for the F01,02 at my request but with ATE rotors as they where the only ones available at the time.. I've just started seeing zimmermans throughout the past year. I would go with Zimmerman as I'm familiar with using them and their more cost efficient but he did assure me ATE is a satisfactory replacement for your rotors.

How do you know you will need brake rotors? I had a mechanic do a test on mine, they have 58,000 miles on them, said they were out of round. The dealership said they were still in spec and would not replace them on the CPO plan.

when i asked question i had not measured the rotors. i assumed they would be under min of 340mm. but when i did check they just had minor warping (out of round). so had mechanic cut very little off since i dealer must of replace rotors when i purchased(dealers never will cut rotors only replace). on rear they did the opposite. they only changed the pads. but i wanted to replace pads to low dust. and since i was there might as well clean up rotors or replace if needed. now when lite braking no vibration felt on steering wheel.
doing rear today. hopefully .

OK thanks. I'm taking mine into dealer tomorrow for a new door handle and wanted them to check rotors again as I get some vibration when braking above 40 mph...not sure the dealer will do much.
