G11 7 Series Dash and Exterior Spy Shots

G11

Check out latest photos showing BMW's next generation BMW 7 series (G11) exterior and for the very first time we get a view of the interior/dashboard, which still has some disquising going on. The addition of carpet to the dash can be easily seen, it's said to keep sun glare to a minimum, while large red buttons activate rear mini bar, disco lights and pre-programmed mood music.

You can also see the new laser lights up front, LED lights will be standard on the new 7 series with the laser lights to be offered as an option. The new L-headlights are paired with wide kidney grilles and a hood cutline which joins the top of the kidney grilles, presenting a front end look that's already sportier than the current 7 Series.

The side body lines are still hidden under quite a bit of camo as well as the rear taillights.

Debut is expected for the latter half of 2015.

Don't like the pop-up navi screen at all - looks like a tacky add-on, just like in the Benz CLA. Hopefully they lose that in production.

Hmmm, I see a full digital dash, the nav screen is blehhhhhh but I have a sense thats just the way it's going, and I see some cool app like icons on the nav screen, very curious why the vents are lit up like that though?

I think the F01 looks better, I am very interested in this new iDrive though!

Rumors are that BMW is planning a larger 9 series. This car better have a lot of high end technology because this interior is no S class fighter.

That center dash piece looks like something you would see out of a Kia. Not impressed. S-class FTW.

Can't possibly be real- it has to be fake to try and throw everybody off. That, or BMW is suicidal....

that not the dash, if it was, it would definitely be covered up. + the new dash wont be much of an improvement over the old ones, not much is changing with regards to bmw styling in the past few generations

This is an interesting read, especially the "swipe" feature...

If that is seriously the interior of the new 7 series then clearly BMW needs to look again before this upcoming car competes with the new S Class. The center console is literally from the F30 3 Series revised with metal buttons instead of plastic.

I hate to say it, but I'm guessing that the "stick up" nav screen is probably for real. Every new BMW car introduced since the 2012 F30 has this, see the 3 series, 4 series and 6 series for proof. I am not a fan of this design, but it appears to be a trend, note the new MB C Class - looks like they glued an iPad to the dash! At least Audi's screen is a pop up and can be retracted! Amazing how the manufacturers copy one another. Notice the proliferation of huge gaping "mouth" type grills adorning Audi, Lexus and a plethora of other makes - at least BMW has stayed away - for now! Two reasons I pulled the trigger on a new 2014 Seven, 1. Great deal, 2. I'm afraid I won't like the G11 :-(

Check out the top pic. Looks like cameras on either side of the rearview mirror at top of the windshield, Theres also something in the grille that looks to be a sensor or camera. Presumably kit that adds some additional lane keeping/self steering similar to whats in the S class. Agree with others the pop up screen isnt great- although it think it looks way better on the 6 series in person than it does in pictures. Also way better execution than what mb did with the cls screen.

I am not sure the center stack hvac/stereo controls look like an improvement. But again i suspect its something you need to see in person to judge.
