Wow! Angel eyes gone modern... full report no bs

Update; while my car has not tripped a code yet, my buddy's has. It said: "Left Lamp", Then "Right Lamp". It went away and hasn't come back. I will let you all know if anything comes up on mine or his again.

Bought the PIAA's for $65 and they don't trip anything and work like a champ. Sorry I haven't been back to report. Temperature is less, with less blue hue but look very bright. Photos to follow.

did you get PIAA extreme white H8 bulbs? ived been waiting for someone to report on this, please post pics. so did your previous white bulbs give out error codes?

The GP Thunders did give off an error message after some use. It was strange, but they did look really nice,..until they coded on me. I pulled them.

A neighbor suggested the PIAA's, not being a fan I reluctantly tried them. I am very impressed, and they've been in for a month now. I'll get pics up shortly--got the crud today.

P8, EXTREME WHITE. They look like they belong on the car. I will admit, the GP Thunders were a little blue, but I liked them anyways. I put them on my other ride with no issues.

What did it take to replace the factory H8s with the PIAAs? I'm somewhat capable in this area, but I will admit I busted some part of the braking system in trying to replace the headlamp in my wife's S80 Volvo (stupid restraining wire!).

Seriously easy. Check your owners manual as it has a very well described illustration.

The PIAA 18235 H8 are like $60 on Amazon. Will check the manual today, if it really is this easy, might just have to do it.

Just ordered a set from amazon, should be in by Monday. My service advisor owes me so I'm gonna have them install them. Will post pics when I get them.

I bought the PIAA H8s from Amazon for around $70. I installed them in a snap (I'm not a big mechanical guy either). They look good, but I really can't tell a big difference, but I think there is a difference. I need to see them next to one with the factory lights.

Ok. Here are pics of the PIAA's. They are bright, and I had problems getting pictures of them without them getting blurred-out due to overexposure. I had to shoot off-center to get it down properly. Here ya' go...

That's pretty much how mine look too. Unfortunately I didn't think about taking before/after pictures.

For the guy that asked about the e92 replacement, I'm not sure what type of bulb you have, but if it's an H8, these should work.

As BMR2009 said, most importantly, the car doesn't complain about these being non-standard. I've had them in for about a week now.

I have had no error codes with the PIAA's since they have been installed. While the price is higher than the GP's, they are a lot cheaper than others, and work great.

So the PIAA are white and the stock yellow?

The piaa looks amazing! I just picked up my car from the dealership but the bulbs did not come in yet. Very excited to change them out!

Yeah, the stocks are intentionally yellow. Why? I really don't know why BMW uses them, but I refuse to. The car looks dated with them.

Had the PIAA's on for about two weeks now and it is not as a bright white as it looks like in the pictures. Also, I compared it to my neighbors GT and the led halos look amazing! I am hoping that they will upgrade the 7er in the near future which we can use in the current model.

Also, any thoughts on these?

Interesting. I have seen those before on-line-- I'd love to see them in person. I'm happy with my PIAA's, but if there is something better, I'm happy to consider. Send me any links you have. thx

For me, the PIAAs helped out enough without having to do any heavy lifting so to speak. I compared them next to my kiddo's factory angel eyes, and there was definitely a difference. But, back in my younger days I may have been up for the challenge.
