has anyone tried or know if there's any new products on www.e92-lighting.com that might work for our f01/f02's??

The ICE Lite will work for your car for a lot less, plus we offer resistors in the unlikely event you get an error, total cost? $80 + possible resistors $24.

I mean no disrespect, but without pictures, it's all talk folks. If they're good, put 'em up and we'll all see.

Returning electrical items is always tricky. Unless you know EXACTLY what you're buying, or have an iron-clad return policy, I would not buy. It's just not worth the headache of convincing sellers their stuff is misrepresented or junk. I have five sets of bulbs I tested for the angel eyes, and ALL of them were MISREPRESENTED products.

If you don't see it on a car, in person, or see pics here with great write-ups, you're throwing your money away.

have any of you guys thought about running a switched, independent Angel eye system?

Basically you wire up a resistor to mimic a factory halogen bulb to the end of the socket. Then you take the positive wire and tap that. That tap will connect to a relay that switches on a separate electrical harness.

This separate harness will basically power up a separate set of bulbs to run as angel eyes. The relay will signal this system to turn on and off as if they were factory angel eyes. You wouldn't have to worry about voltage spikes and as well what the appropriate voltage is or dimming or anything of the sort; electric flow is electric flow and thus will switch the relay either on or off, no inbetweens!

You could do this with a simple HID relay harness and hook up some sort of bulbs to the end, but rather than plugging the trigger wire into the factory headlight harness, you tap the angel eye harness and then place a resistor on the end of that!

Also as I mentioned before, you could run this system with an HID bulb. I see some of you are running bulbs greater than 50 watts! An HID system runs at least 3x cooler than halogens so you wouldn't risk melting anything. As well you would have almost 3200 lumens of light illuminating the rings!

This is just an idea for you guys to toy around with. Implement it if you choose with your own research and caution! If the E65/66 had the ability to run H8 bulbs, I'd already be doing this!

Read the rest of the thread. It's been done with HID--I posted the pics and commentary.

OK...to recap through 23 pages. In terms of H8 bulb replacements, some look good with just the angel eyes on....but almost all of them go back to yellow with headlights on, right?

Bill, did you ever get those bulbs than SAN had posted a pic of and try them? What bulbs are those? Phillips 5k or 6k?

I assume our next option is either doing a LED or HID kit in the angel eyes? Those won't go yellow when they dim.

Not as yellow as stock, slightly. The first photo is stock.

SAN....do you have a link to find those bulbs and buy them?

I've been doing a lot of research on this and ordered bulbs from Bimmian. They were $50. It sounds as if this is the best bulb out that is a halogen replacement....whether it ends up being any good we'll see.

I have also ordered LED bulbs, as well.....both will be here next week.

Short of opening the headlight and replacing the angel eyes.....it doesn't seem like there is much out there for us.

There are LED and HID systems.....but I have heard the LED are VERY bright....meaning when you turn your low beams on you aren't going to see the difference between the angel eye and low beam....making it one big huge blob light.

Some of the really good recommended LED ones don't fit our cars....they fit the E90/E92. The Weisslicht...which the LED I bought....are supposed to be the best LED's in terms of what will fit our cars....no error codes, nothing. My concern with the LED is supposedly they are very dim during the day. Again, it depends on the product....so we'll see with these.

Also....as for the MTechs.....one person said they looked like crap, another said they looked great. I'm not sure we can dismiss it based on 1 opinion where pics weren't even posted. Problem with the guy who posted the good pics of the MTechs is they need to be taken in a darker setting....it's just too hard to see otherwise.

If I am not satisfied with the 2 I have coming....I might order the MTechs and break that 1-1 tie. I also would love to try those Philips SAN has. SAN, did you ever send a set to Bill? Or no?

I think the final choices at this point.....the Philips....MTech (possibly...again 1-1)....the Bimmians I am trying....and the LED's I am trying are the best choices we have right now. Hopefully I can narrow that list down in a few days to 1-2 that will produce white error-free light. I have no issue paying $150-200 for LED's if they will do this.

I bought it locally from a shop in Singapore and and have not checked recently if they have stock which they ran out before. It's Philips 5000.

Are those chrome accents on the bumper below the headlights and if so was it a factory install?

No, I haven't got them to test yet. It slipped my mind, to be honest.

What do you say Sam, any bulbs for me to test?

I bought two sets of the Philips Diamond Vision H8 from this site: IPMart

The two sets with air mail shipping came out to $48. The only downside is having to wait 3-4 weeks to receive the bulbs!

Anyone know how much replacement headlamp assemblies for the F01 7 Series and the F10 5 Series cost?

Trying to get an idea of how much LED assemblies for a facelifted F01 might cost...
