Wow! Angel eyes gone modern... full report no bs

Hey what ever happen to Bill? Bill have you found anything Just install the Alpine HID AE same from some other and falcon. No error so for on the x5 and very bright. I'll be installing it on the f01 this Saturday.

I am having my hid's put in coming Friday and will post pics after.

So I got both 8k kits in for the x5 and the f01. 1st night the x5 seem to be ok but notice the AE furthest from the power keep going on and off. Re check all the cable as suggested by Alex. Seem to be ok but haven't driven the x5 since


Then the install in the F01, install was simple and easy as instructed by Alex video but same issues as the X5. But worst, the AE furthest from the power source didn't stay on for more then 30sec. Turn on it was a bad batch of bulbs.... Again great service from Alex.

He will ship out the replacement bulbs next day. But I requested for 7k instead of 8k... I'm finding the 8k has too much blue and making our factory xenon too yellow.

Hope to have the comparison pic of 7k vs 8k soon.

Ok. Everything is fix. Got the new bulbs from Alex. And very happy with the result and color.

The 8k bulbs I got was bad. And Alex sent me a new set but I requested for 7k bulbs instead.

I found that the 7k is a better match then the 8k. 7k has that aqua BMW blue The 8k is more blue blue. You can tell its an aftermarket mod.

Here are some pic. It's really hard to take cuz it's soo bright But look alot better in person.

Passager side is 7k
Driver is 8k

Having a car that has the OEM AE LED lights to compare it to the Alpine MSS HID lights... the 8k lights mimic the color of the OEM AE LED the best...... again the car in the middle has the OEM AE LED lights... the 7 series has the Alpine MSS at 8k... the Z4 has the old Lux LED lights...

I'm telling you guys, it looks exactly like in this photo when you see it in person. Very very slight blue. I don't know why but the cameras seem to bring out more blue. Different cameras, different angles, one has to see it in person.

Has anyone thought of or tried a shielded HID bulb? I think with the right kind of shielding we might be able to direct some of the light in the super bright inner ring to the outer ring and make it look more balanced.

They are very balanced in person.... Just like the OEM AE LED lights

Inner rings are definitely brighter but still looks excellent with the alpine mms, no regrets. I think Falcons photo a few post above says it all.

Hello Everybody, I have been following your postings on the whole 750li LED Lights. You must of all had the opporutinity to really experiment since 2009. Being we are in May of 2012, would anybody be able to recommend any great LED lights that give no error codes. I pick up my 2009 750li tomorrow. I can't stand the pissy yellow lights and want the clear led lights. I asked how much it would costs to install the 2012 750li led lights and my service tech said I would have to buy the whole assembly line and this could cost up to $1800 per light and there still is no guarantee that they will work. Please tell me you have found an LED light to sold my problem!

I just spoke with the general manager and he found out that the top service tech there drives the same car I have and has found an LED light with a resistor that works with no error codes. The service guy said he had done it to three other cars and they all work fine. I will notify you when he is finished.

After spending countless hours reading through this forum, I have concluded that the Alpinemss HID is the way I need to go. Can everybody that has installed this kit now verify that they still have no error codes, power/brightness issues? When you look at it straight on can you still the two rings or is the inner ring distorted with light.

Has anybody installed the Nokya H8 LED kit and had success?

No error codes whatsoever. It works perfect and I use mine during the day and night driving. I'm using the 8000K bulbs which was recommended by Alex which I find perfect.

Looks impressive. Keeps us posted on codes, a month minimum use to give me any confidence, three months would be ideal. Some burn hot and just burn out.

Yeah, really a double bulb; one for the hole that leads to ring two, and one for the home ring. Split the voltage of a full balast between two half charge bulbs and I think you're there. Use 7,000 kelvin for the color.

I live in Singapore and the weather gets really hot here, unto 35 degrees celcius for a few days in a row at times. I use my day time angel eyes even on a warm sunny day. I think it has easily been over a month with no issues.

I installed the Alpine kit about 3 months ago. No errors as of yet, looks incredible, like it should have from the factory

I just looked over the new 650 sedan. Did you see the headlights on that thing? Plus it has the fold down rear seats which I would love, 450 hp, 480 lbs torque. Wonder how it compares in size to the 7. I like the look. I wonder what the hit will be to our older body style car when the new lights come out? Not any different than in the past, I'm sure.

Anyway, this tread has been a lot of help, I just ordered PIAA H8 from Amazon since I don't care about brightness, just wanna get rid of the doo doo yellow and have white angel eyes with no error code is good enough for me!
