About to buy 2001 x5 4.4l need assistance
so my mechanic has a 2001 x5 4.4L for sale. its been sitting for almost a year now. he just put a new abs bump in and a new transmission in it. the car has 80k miles on it and its silver on grey. hes giving it to me for 11000. what do you guys think and what should i look out for. oh and i also think the water pump got replaced as well.

How much do you trust your mechanic? Have you been going to him long? If you have faith in him and he says the X is in good shape, buy it, but maybe have him give you some type of warranty. Have the control arm bushings been done? How does the neck of the cooling system look? How many miles on the used tranny? Oh, why was it sitting for a year? These are just items to be aware of.
