Has anyone had any experience with the Bilstein B4 shocks. They seem to be offerred for the standard chassis as OEM replacements. Was wondering if the ride quality may change at all. Was hoping for something a bit softer like everyone else. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Eventhough you can't go wrong with Bilstein, as OEM replacements I'd guess they won't be any softer. I wouldn't go any softer with the X3 suspension and sacrifice handling, is right as it is.

They are designed to fit like OEM, but they are not suppose to be the same as OEM. Just wondering if anyone has any real world experience with them.

If you do the replacements, can you post a DIY with pics on how to gain access to rear shock tower? Everyone says its a pain in the butt to take off the interior panels.

I put the Bilstein HD rear shocks in my 04 X3 with sport package. I love them! Search my username/posts in this x3 sub-forum for my more detailed review of them.
And yes, I gave up trying to pull apart the interior and just paid my mechanic to replace the shocks. |
