New to the forum

Hello all! i have had my 2005 BMW X3 for 6 months now. And until now the car has been running GREAT! Bow that the weather is upon us im hearing the car make more and more odd noises. For example, today as i was driving to work, I hear a single beep and automatically look at the display area and see this : + 37F blinking i would say 5-8 times. Is that normal? I arrived to work, 3hrs later i went to lunch and the same beep went off again! Should i be worried?

Please open your manual, or in the alternative, perform a simple search "37F" or the like.

That said (sorry), welcome - it's nothing other than your on-board computer working as designed, chiming a warning as the outside temps drop to that point where road likely is getting slick if there is any moisture about!!!!

Now that you have been fully initiated in the mysteries of BMW, welcome!

On another BMW it took me a bit to figure out the ding ding ding. Actually I think I too discovered the answer on a forum. Something like that, you don't even know where to start looking in the manual. That's why it is such a good idea to read it cover to cover I guess.

welcome! yes, please don't forget to read the manual cover to cover, and if you take the first letter from the first paragraph on every odd page, it gives you the secret code to say to your SA next time you are in for service to get an automatic 100,000 mile warranty extension.

And it works too! The only problem is the warranty extension is for an Audi. Welcome aboard Lu!

Welcome to my club! I was in the exact frame of mind when I first got behind the wheel of each of my first 3 BMW's, starting with the 325es back in '86. Finally started reading the manual with this latest buy. It's amazing the amount of relevant information to be found in those pages!!

Again, Welcome! to Bimmerfest. This is a great BB with lots of very knowledgeable folks (myself rarely included - although I still offer my opinions!).

wow, great info about the chime at 37F. thanks guys, i have been reading my manual on my x3 over the last couple of weeks since i purchased, but must have missed that one. keep 'em comin!!
