Cigarette lighter short

Ok guys I did a search and didnt really find the answer.

My 3 cigarette lighters went out yesterday. I fugured it was probably one of the fuses. I checked the fuses in the glovebox and sure enough one of the fuses was blown.

I went to change the fuse that was blown and when I tried I can see there was a short and the brand new fuse blew.

I had the car off and the remote key was not in. Car data show all systems are fine with no problems.

Any Ideas.... I have my extended warranty but I dont want to go through the hassle of going to the dealer dont get this fixed if I can do it myself.

Thanks guys.

I had the same problem at first....my hands are kinda big...

I had to remove the door that was hiding the fuses. It comes off it makes it much easier to remove the fuse.

Yep Finding and changing that fuse was a bear!

While we're at it. Is there a map of the fuse locations in the front? I had to look at each one till I found the blown one.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think I remember using the fuse clamp/clip located in the truck where the other fuses are to take off and put in new ones in the glove compartment. You can try that out .

Hey guys. I saw how easily yall fixed the cigarette lighter issues for the original posterof this problem. Well I dont see any coins or metal in the lighter and I too had one fuse blown but still my lighters all of them arent working. Any advice or help anyone can provide would be great.

Re-check your fuses ....there are 3 fuses that are in the circuit :

F31 - 20 Amp (1 front socket & 1 rear socket)
F32 - 20 Amp (1 rear socket)

F43 - 50 Amp (all sockets)

All fuses above are located in the Glovebox :
