Well, once you are a member for 12 months, you get rebates on the purchase of new BMWs, e.g., I just got a $1,000 check last week for an X5 I bought a month ago.

And the monthly magaxine is quite good, particularly the technical Q and A column.

Short answer is YES. The monthly magazine Roundel is worth the price of admission. Discounts on parts at dealers.... so YES.

Roundel is an excellent magazine. The discounts are excellent. If you plan on purchasing a new BMW in over a year, the rebate can pay for many years of membership. You also get a membership to your local chapter.

If you ever plan on going to the BMW Performance Driving School, the 20% discount there can save you quite a bit of money as well.

Current members get referral credits for helping new members. If you have not already been referred by someone, you can use my number for referral (401419).

lI have been a member in the past but never really got much out of it except a lot of books stacked up still in their cello wrappers, both Roundel and the chapter mag (which I don't even remember the name of). Used to read the Roundel but lost interest, never did read the chapter mag after the first one. If you are really into BMW's and the culture the club is great. If you ever plan on getting a new BMW it is good too. If you are "just passing through" a BMW phase enroute to a Porsche or Mercedes or Audi or whatever it is a waste of money IMHO.

If you love cars, you'll love Roundel. The mag opffers surprising candid reviews of BMWs versus Audi, Posrsche and Acuras, they have good monthly columnists, and Tech Talk with Mike Miller is a must read. The new purchase and parts discount also makes it worthwhile. Everyone should try it for at least a year.

Worth every penny! Over the past 12 years, I have "earned" $3500 in cash rebates! Yes, they mail you a check a few weeks after you take delivery.

'98 BMW 328i = $500
'01 BMW 330i = $500
'03 BMW X5 = $1000
'07 BMW 335i = $500
'08 BMW X5 = $1000

Absolutely, BMW CCA membership is worth it.

In addition to the benefits that others have indicated (Roundel magazine and rebate checks) the group chapters actually meet for social events such as going to a German restaurant or the really worthwhile track time (probably not of interest to the X5 group ).

I also received a $1,000.00 check. If you're into BMW's it's worth joining. The dues just increased from $40 a year to $48.

Yeah, I called in late Nov. and renewed for two more years at the old rate.

Definitely worth it. You get a great magazine, local chapter news, discounts, and $$$$ back when you purchase a new or CPO BMW (after you have been a member for one year). Heck, take a Car Control Clinic and a one year membership is included! If you don't like it, do renewal, but you should at least try one year!
