Question iDrive LCD screen problems

I just bought 2009 535i and already took it to a dealer for this curious problem. Basically, when start the car after sitting overnight (cold iron) the iDrive LCD screen blinks for few minutes until car "warms" up. The problem is temperature sensitive, the colder it gets the worse problem is....when it dropped into 40's here in FL..the screen stayed blank for over a minute (thought it died) but then came alive (all red) and died again for another 30 sec's or so and came back on but this time displaying iDrive info BUT blinking continued less and less frequently until "stabilized". The dealer was able to replicate the problem after car set overnight and replaced the screen and upgraded software (required re-setting the battery for it to take) BUT the next morning after I picked the car up it did it again...Any thoughts on this one?
Thanks guys

Update: talked to the dealer service manager and we came in agreement to wait until it gets cold here on daily bases to bring the car back in for further trouble shooting so I am hopping in Jan once it gets "cold" it stays cold unlike current weather roller coaster lol
