BMW X5 4.6 Engine sound lower?

well lately my x5 4.6 engine sound and exhaust sound became very low... I hear more of a air running sound then the actual engine... what can it be from? it feels like im driving a 6 cylinder.. the "powerful" sound is gone!!!

lately the average temperature outside is about 45 degrees F. can that play a role?
