Mein Auto: 2004 X3 & 1999 323i vert
Upgrade to a........

I have two bmw's and I'm looking to go to one car(keep upkeep and costs down). I have a 99 323 vert and a 04 X3. I want to get a newer X3. Right now my X3 has cold weather and premium package, xenon highlights, and I think premium sound. I'm not sure what year I should look at since all of them seem to have some problems. I'm also look to upgrade so I can get bluetooth and to get a new warranty.

Or should I just sell the vert, and take that money and upgrade the 04?

Generally speaking, the absolute best bet would be to order a 2010 X3 with a manual transmission as you like it.

Otherwise if you're looking at used, you may as well stay with your 2004, provided it hasn't given too many problems.

+1 but be prepared for some maintentance expenses down the road (pun intended) as your car gets older. The best bet (if you really have to have an X3) is a later version, a left over '08 m/t (if you can find one) would probably do nicely at a decent cost. In any case I would really avoid the new '11 until the bugs are worked out after moving the line from Austria to S'burg. A "new" model X3, and the new line, virtually assures there will be bugs.
