And there are a few more for BMW's that aren't listed. Any of those in either of the two lists can make the CEL light up.
What OBD II code reader will work for my 2010 X5d, the CEL is on and dealer says it is transmission fault. I plan to buy a reader to self check first.

Peake reader does not support any product that support 2010. I'm looking at Actron. They have more than one model, which one is appropriate?

I find some readers from amazon, they do not work with CAN.( the pricing range $40-$60) Do I need the reader that supports CAN?($110-$200)
