someone HELP please!!!
hey guys im new to the forums and the somewhat new to the bmw world. I have a 06 x3 that im having trouble with and its driving me crazy. the problem is intermettent and occurs at first start up. It will either start fine or start loping like crazy with no throttle response. Or start fine but die when i put it in gear. It keeps throwing the same 4 codes. I tried swapping out both the throttle body and throttle valve with known working ones but no luck. codes are as follows
28B2: RPM limitation:control 27A1: throttle valve:start test 2796:throttle valve learn values incorrect 2830 ME self test-checksumanyone have this problem or some guidance? thanks alot |

bmc, are you still under OEM warranty?
If so take it right in to the dealer's shop and have them fix it. If out of warranty take it in to a good indy BMW oriented ship and have them fix it. This is the kind of thing that needs to be professionally looked at IMHO, but then you already knew that.

Don't really know what those codes could relate to, but it could be that the Crankcase Ventilation system is starting to clog up. Happens when it is cold outside as the oil is a little thicker. It is basically a PCV system on BMW's. Not a cheap repair. Do a search for CCV and you should find the symptoms and repair parts/cost. Parts are relatively cheap, but the labor is the killer as a good portion of parts have to be removed to replace it. And if it is under warranty, let the dealer do it. If the CCV completely clogs, your engine will seize so be careful if you have to drive it.
