Whats wrong with the DDM DEPO lights?

Anyone in here talking about how great hella's are must be smoking crack. If they were so great you wouldn't see threads on peeps looking to replace their headlights every other day. Mine are shot and look like $hit and I wouldn't pay a dime for another set of hella's.

I personally love my hella's and am glad i didn't jump on the first used set or go for the taiwans... especially at the price I paid for them. I got them at a steal even when compared to other's depo or dj autos.

That is a decent price. however they are significantly more for 2001+ with HID's. Hopefully your adjusters will last more than a few years before going brittle and disintegrating.

DEPO has had and continues to have problems with the plexiglass cracking between the outer and inner layers of plastic.
Stay away from them.

If you want a good alternative - there are only 2.
Projector39 Hella-Type - a DJ Auto light that we modify to include Orion v2 and one that comes with HIDs that dont' cause errors.

Hella OE Xenon - $1019.

There was a good breakdown of the values on m5board if you want to look there.

try the classifieds, ebay or craigslist. Maybe even a salvage yard?

yeah you are right HID's are more pricey. I have '01 w/o HIDs. I could have purchased '02+ HID's for $450. it was just not the look I wanted. I like having the amber indicators.

i believe the difference between the '01 & '02+ are the indicators & reflectors.
I may be completely wrong.
hopefully someone can chime in and correct or verify this

There is a place in la habra called bavarian exclusive. They are registered hella distributors; they may be able to get you a decent price.

yeah 245 plus the ultra HD angel eyes and 55w 6k kit all adds up to 400 + shipping...im thinking about these umnitza Projector39 Hella-Types that come with the Orion v2 angel eyes ???? ANYONE have some input on that set up ???

from bavarian exclusive in la habra. last time i checked there website; they didn't have them listed. if you give them a call they may have some in or possibly order them.
