SMG hydraulic pump turn on every 20 seconds

When my car is cool I put the switch on and the SMG hydraulic pump turn on every 2 minutes but when the car is hot the pump turn on every 20 secons. That is normal?

As far as it being normal, I can only say that my car does not do this. It certainly sounds like you could have a pressure accumulator that is leaking internally causing the pump to run more frequently to maintain pressure. The accumulator is available seperately so you might want to get this diagnosed before it kills the pump.

Not, yet. I'm waiting for an appointment with the BMW dealer for a SMG software update recall. Then I will take it to a INDY for a GT1 diagnostic to decide if change the accumulator or the entire pump.
