Programming Old Key

I have an early 2000 model with the older square key (which cannot be upgraded to the new diamond shaped key). Missed it by 3 months in production cycle. Anyways, can this key also be programmed to adjust the seats, etc. My manual is from late 2000 and only shows the new key features. Also my online manual from BMW shows the new key features.

Best bet is to just call your local dealer....or ask the tech next time you are in service. i know the newer keys have the seat feature you mention but it has to be programmed at the dealer despite what some people here might say.
